Wood be Good was founded on a simple idea: the best wood does not have to be newly harvested. It already exists - in bridges, buildings and infrastructure across Kalimantan that have stood for decades.
We go there. We work directly with local partners to identify and recover material that has completed a full first life. We document everything. And we only move what meets our standard.
We work with two species. Both proven. Both documented.
Ulin (Eusideroxylon zwageri) also know as Indonesian Ironwood is one of the worlds most durable wood species. Traditionally used in bridges, jetties, roads and large constructions Kalimantan Indonesia.

Indonesian Teak (Tectona grandis) is a dense, stable hardwood recovered from structural use. Suited for outdoor construction and interiors where quality and longevity matter.

We work directly in Indonesia - which means we have seen where this wood comes from, who handles it and what it takes to move it responsibly.
By bringing existing material back into use, we extend the life of what has already been taken and reduce the need to take more. We support reforestation of natural forest in Borneo - not plantations - and contribute to local value creation in the communities involved in recovery and processing.
We also move material across the world. That has an impact. We choose it because the alternative is cutting down what took hundreds of years to grow.

We are involved at every step, we believe that it is the only way to guarantee what we say is true.
Sourcing
We identify material in dismantled structures across Borneo. We work with local partners in careful, selective recovery - not bulk purchasing from anonymous sources.
Authentication
Documented chain of custody. Physical inspection. Photographic evidence. Supplier compliance documentation. If we cannot trace it, we do not sell it.
Restoration
Sorted, prepared and processed to meet construction and export standards. The character stays. The uncertainty does not.
Distribution
Direct supply to hardware stores, architects, contractors and furniture makers across Europe and Australia.
