Reclaimed Ulin sits between standard timber and design products, and fills a gap that most building centres do not yet have covered. It attracts architects, design-oriented customers and sustainability-conscious buyers who are actively looking for something with more character and more credibility than what is currently on the shelf. That brings new customers — and better margins than standard timber.
The story behind the material, where it comes from, what it has been part of and why it matters, can be used actively in marketing and in-store communication. We support our distribution partners with documentation and material that makes it easy to explain.
In Denmark, reclaimed Ulin is already available through Stark. In Australia, we work with Thor's Hammer. We are actively looking for additional partners across Europe.

Reclaimed hardwood is often assumed to be an aesthetic choice. It is not only that. Reclaimed Ulin is one of the most durable hardwoods in the world, density 1,100 kg/m³, durability class 1, minimum 50 years lifespan outdoors. It performs. And it can be documented.
Many practices are actively working with circular construction, material reuse and reduced carbon footprint. Reclaimed Ulin is a concrete way to integrate those principles into a project without
compromising on aesthetics or performance. The material contributes to a lower embodied carbon calculation, supports circular material flows and brings a story to the project that clients, users and the public can understand and connect with.

Reclaimed hardwood is sometimes seen as inconsistent or difficult to work with. Reclaimed Ulin is not. It arrives machined to consistent dimensions, documented and ready to install. Dense, stable and naturally resistant to rot, fungi and insects, without treatment.
Climate requirements in building regulations are increasing, and more clients are asking for documented reductions in embodied carbon. Reclaimed material, wood that already exists and requires no new extraction, is a concrete way to respond to those requirements.

Through our work in Indonesia, we contribute to reforestation of natural forest in Borneo, local value creation in the communities involved in recovery and processing, and a supply chain governed by our Supplier Code of Conduct.
