Only reclaimed is good enough

Why choose reclaimed wood?

Forest Conservation

Reclaiming wood reduces deforestation as it demands relatively fewer resources than growing and cutting down living trees for timber and by choosing reclaimed wood, you support a sustainable practice that minimizes environmental impact and preserves forests for future generations.

Carbon Footprint and Emissions

Reclaimed wood is one of the most sustainable materials and is generally more sustainable than virgin wood . Reclaimed wood has significantly lower embodied energy compared to new timber since it does not require new harvesting, eliminating the extraction phase and its associated energy usage. Reclaimed wood keeps its carbon storage role throughout the process of being taken from old structures, transported, manufactured, and put into new projects.

Superior Strength and Density

Old growth wood comes from trees that were able to grow for, in most cases, hundreds of years! This long growth process creates some of the most durable wood known to man.

And it comes with a story…

Reclaimed Ulin - Still strong after all these years

  • Ulin

The Pinnacle of Strength and Sustainability

One of the strongest and heaviest timbers in the world comes from this very significant tree. Ulin trees can live for more than a thousand years. Commonly exploitable trees for commercial use can reach heights of 30 meters or over, and their trunk diameters can reach 92 cm.

We will let these ones stay…

You can find our Ulin fact sheet here

  • The opposite of deforestation

Our wood is 100% reclaimed Ulin. Coming from the Kalimantan area in Indonesia. Our partners dismantle old buildings, bridges, boats etc. The wood is brought to the production facility, where new boards for decking is made.

Because of the nature of reclaimed timber. Our wood comes with a story. Before the reclaimed wood goes through the machinery every piece of metal, eg. nails and more has to be removed. As such you will be able to find small holes that our partner fills out. It all adds character!

  • Great for decking

All though we can deliver Ulin in many shapes and sizes, our main focus is delivering reclaimed boards for decking for the industry.

We import standard sizes of boards. 18 × 145 mm. Lengths varying from 2 m and up to 4 m.

If you have a project with special sizes please contact us and we can start a conversation.

For every 950 m2 of decking boards sold 50 new Ulin trees is planted.
And we want to plant even more in the future!

  • Bangkirai

    Every inch reclaimed

Why keep on cutting down trees when we can use what we already cut down 50-100 years ago? Salvaged from old docks, industrial platforms, and heavy-duty structures our reclaimed Bangkirai comes from the area of East Kalimantan and central Java.

  • From golden to deep honey

Commonly referred to as Yellow Balau, Bangkirai is a robust and dense hardwood ideal for demanding outdoor environments. Its resistance to fungi, insects, and decay makes it suitable for decking, boardwalks, and other exterior uses. With a naturally warm hue ranging from golden to deep honey, it gracefully ages into a silvery-grey patina without losing its structural resilience.

Working on this section

Transparency and Traceability

Transparency

We want to build a company based on the values we carry as everyday people. We believe that business should give back and be as transparent as possible. We will share our lessons learned.

Just begun

The adventure has just begun. We are in the process of building our company and getting ready to deliver reclaimed wood all across Europe. This will take time and hard work. We will let you know how it goes!

Traceability

We work very close with our supplier in Indonesia and we will check and get papers all along the way. Every building, boat, bridge etc. that gets dismantled comes with signed papers from the owners.
